Computer simulation of a Nova
Simulated Ultraviolet (UV) spectrum calculated with a time series of
computer models that represent the first few weeks of a Nova explosion. The plot
shows how the Nova's UV spectrum changes with time as the shell of ejected gas
expands and heats up. The temperature is printed on the plot in thousands of degrees.
